ST MUTO – Ease of use

Secure Termination (ST) Multi User Telecommunication Outlet (MUTO) boxes are manufactured with the installer and end user in mind. The ST MUTO box design makes it easy for installers to mount and terminate the cables, while also providing an aesthetic look. The ST MUTO are designed to allow installers to terminate fibre and Ethernet into termination boxes while ensuring compliance with Government and Defence secure termination requirements.

Security by design:

The ST MUTO comes with a clear acrylic lid to satisfy the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) by allowing for easy inspection of the cable terminations.

The ISM control ISM-1109 states that outlet boxes must have clear lids.

The ISM states that ”In shared facilities, clear covers on enclosed cable reticulation systems are a convenient method of maintaining inspection requirements.”

The Securely-3D ST MUTO products help designers and installers achieve the controls specified in the ISM.

Once the clear acrylic top plate is slid into place, it can be sealed with SCEC compliant wire seals, such as the ROTO seal family to make removal impossible without damaging either the seal or the enclosure.

STO – Colour coding

The ISM specifies that different classification networks must be segregated and identifiable according to their classification. STO boxes are available in the colours specified in the ISM as noted in the table below

Outlet port numbering:

To assist with installation, the ST MUTO can be printed with port numbering on top of the enclosure. They can be ordered with either no text, Alphanumeric or Numeric text. Contact us for details.

Mounting and Back configuration:

The ST MUTO can be ordered with either closed or open backs. The closed back units can be mounted directly onto the wall using suitable fasteners. The open back units allows for mounting on to electrical backboxes to allow cables to be reticulated in the wall and neatly enter the ST MUTO from the back. The wide units comes with single and double gang mounting holes, while the narrow units allows for mounting ont0i single gang backboxes.

Unused connector holes can be closed by purchasing blank inserts. The blank inserts are available for each connector type.
